Parallax Creator

This program generates parallax animations from layers of images. The animation can be recorded to video (webm), and then downloaded.

Controls:

  • Play/Stop Button: Plays and stops the animation.
  • Record Button: Records the animation while it is playing. Press it once to start recording. Press it again to end the recording and save the webm video file.
  • Canvas Settings: Opens the canvas editor where you can adjust canvas dimensions, background color, and background transparency.
  • Layer Settings: Opens the layers editor.
  • Upload Image: Uploads an image to the layer.
  • Layer Name: Adds a name for the layer, so you can identify it in the list of layers.
  • Animation Direction: Determines which direction the layer will travel.
  • Animation Speed: Determines the speed at which the layer will travel.
  • Vertical Position: Changes the vertical (top/bottom) position of the layer. This is only used for layers that travel horizontally, and spin mode.
  • Horizontal Position: Changes the horizontal (left/right) position of the layer. This is only used for layers that travel vertically, and spin mode.
  • Spin Mode: This causes the uploaded image to spin in place at the set speed and position. This is for circular parallax animations.
  • Transparency: Controls the alpha opacity of a layer.
  • + Add Layer: Adds a new image layer to the canvas with your settings applied. Upload an image, adjust the settings, then press this button to save the layer.

Layers:

  • When you add a layer, it is added to the layers list.
  • Click a layer to open the editor for that layer. You can adjust most of the settings there. The highlighted layer is the one that's being edited.
  • Update Layer: This button commits the changes and closes the editor.
  • Trash Can: This will permanently delete the layer. This can't be undone.
  • Up/Down: The Up and Down buttons move a layer up or down in the stacking order. The canvas layers are stacked in the same order as the layers list.

Saving Your Configuration As A Text File:

  • Save Config As Text File: This will save all of the current settings to a text file that you can download to your device.
  • Load Config File: Upload a configuration file that you saved with this program. The settings should load automatically.
  • Advantages: You can keep your config file on your own device, and then upload it whenever you want to use it again.
  • Disadvantages: The config file could become lost or corrupted.

Saving Your Configuration To The Database:

  • Login to your account or Register to save your configurations to the database.
  • Load: Loads the selected configuration. Then, it can be edited.
  • Delete: Permanently deletes the selected configuration. This cannot be undone.
  • Share: Copies a share link to your clipboard. Paste it wherever you need it. When someone visits the link, the config will automatically load, and the animation will begin playing automatically, if the config loads successfully.
  • Advantages: You can then share your creations, and keep/manage a list of your configs.
  • Disadvantages: You have to login to access your list of saved configs.

Tips:

  • PC recommended. Performance on tablets and mobile devices isn't guaranteed.
  • Transparent PNG formatted images provide best results.
  • Use a video converter to convert from webm to mpeg.
